This is the age of social networking. With thousands of social networking sites, another large set of social networking apps and so on, social networking is something to stay. People have gone to the habit of showing large part of their life on the internet. Their hobbies, interests, friends etc. etc. In fact, almost all major social networking sites have options to update what you are doing right now and display it on the profile. This can even be updated via mobile.
Now coming to this software, it is another social networking tool. It mainly enables you to “scrobble” songs that you are playing. By “scrobble” we mean that whatever you are playing right now will be updated to the internet. It will be available on your profile on Last.fm website.
It does not end there. Some “apps” are available on other social networking sites such as Facebook, that enable you to get updates of the songs being played right in to your Facebook profile.
Lastly, it also has a basic interface that fetches the album and artist details of the current playing song from the internet. Often these details are also associated with photo of artist and albums.
